(string)

MaxAge -> (integer)

The number of seconds that the browser should cache preflight request results. Supported only for HTTP APIs.

Shorthand Syntax:

AllowCredentials=boolean,AllowHeaders=string,string,AllowMethods=string,string,AllowOrigins=string,string,ExposeHeaders=string,string,MaxAge=integer

JSON Syntax:

{
  "AllowCredentials": true|false,
  "AllowHeaders": ["string", ...],
  "AllowMethods": ["string", ...],
  "AllowOrigins": ["string", ...],
  "ExposeHeaders": ["string", ...],
  "MaxAge": integer
}

--credentials-arn (string)

This property is part of quick create. It specifies the credentials required for the integration, if any. For a Lambda integration, three options are available. To specify an IAM Role for API Gateway to assume, use the role’s Amazon Resource Name (ARN). To require that the caller’s identity be passed through from the request, specify arn:aws:iam:::user/. To use resource-based permissions on supported AWS services, specify null. Currently, this property is not used for HTTP integrations. Supported only for HTTP APIs.

--description (string)

The description of the API.

--disable-schema-validation | --no-disable-schema-validation (boolean)

Avoid validating models when creating a deployment. Supported only for WebSocket APIs.

--disable-execute-api-endpoint | --no-disable-execute-api-endpoint (boolean)

Specifies whether clients can invoke your API by using the default execute-api endpoint. By default, clients can invoke your API with the default https://{api_id}.execute-api.{region}.amazonaws.com endpoint. To require that clients use a custom domain name to invoke your API, disable the default endpoint.

--name (string)

The name of the API.

--protocol-type (string)

The API protocol.

Possible values:

  • WEBSOCKET

  • HTTP

--route-key (string)

This property is part of quick create. If you don’t specify a routeKey, a default route of $default is created. The $default route acts as a catch-all for any request made to your API, for a particular stage. The $default route key can’t be modified. You can add routes after creating the API, and you can update the route keys of additional routes. Supported only for HTTP APIs.

--route-selection-expression (string)

The route selection expression for the API. For HTTP APIs, the routeSelectionExpression must be ${request.method} ${request.path}. If not provided, this will be the default for HTTP APIs. This property is required for WebSocket APIs.

--tags (map)

The collection of tags. Each tag element is associated with a given resource.

key -> (string)

value -> (string)

A string with a length between [0-1600].

Shorthand Syntax:

KeyName1=string,KeyName2=string

JSON Syntax:

{"string": "string"
  ...}

--target (string)

This property is part of quick create. Quick create produces an API with an integration, a default catch-all route, and a default stage which is configured to automatically deploy changes. For HTTP integrations, specify a fully qualified URL. For Lambda integrations, specify a function ARN. The type of the integration will be HTTP_PROXY or AWS_PROXY, respectively. Supported only for HTTP APIs.

--api-version (string)

A version identifier for the API.

--cli-input-json | --cli-input-yaml (string) Reads arguments from the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by --generate-cli-skeleton. If other arguments are provided on the command line, those values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally. This may not be specified along with --cli-input-yaml.

--generate-cli-skeleton (string) Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value input, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for --cli-input-json. Similarly, if provided yaml-input it will print a sample input YAML that can be used with --cli-input-yaml. If provided with the value output, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command.

See ‘aws help’ for descriptions of global parameters.

Examples

To create an HTTP API

The following create-api example creates an HTTP API by using quick create. You can use quick create to create an API with an AWS Lambda or HTTP integration, a default catch-all route, and a default stage that is configured to automatically deploy changes. The following command uses quick create to create an HTTP API that integrates with a Lambda function.

aws apigatewayv2 create-api \
    --name my-http-api \
    --protocol-type HTTP \
    --target arn:aws:lambda:us-west-2:123456789012:function:my-lambda-function

Output:

{
    "ApiEndpoint": "https://a1b2c3d4.execute-api.us-west-2.amazonaws.com",
    "ApiId": "a1b2c3d4",
    "ApiKeySelectionExpression": "$request.header.x-api-key",
    "CreatedDate": "2020-04-08T19:05:45+00:00",
    "Name": "my-http-api",
    "ProtocolType": "HTTP",
    "RouteSelectionExpression": "$request.method $request.path"
}

For more information, see Developing an HTTP API in API Gateway in the Amazon API Gateway Developer Guide.

To create a WebSocket API

The following create-api example creates a WebSocket API with the specified name.

aws apigatewayv2 create-api \
    --name "myWebSocketApi" \
    --protocol-type WEBSOCKET \
    --route-selection-expression '$request.body.action'

Output:

{
    "ApiKeySelectionExpression": "$request.header.x-api-key",
    "Name": "myWebSocketApi",
    "CreatedDate": "2018-11-15T06:23:51Z",
    "ProtocolType": "WEBSOCKET",
    "RouteSelectionExpression": "'$request.body.action'",
    "ApiId": "aabbccddee"
}

For more information, see Create a WebSocket API in API Gateway in the Amazon API Gateway Developer Guide.
